The one i have is slow but as you say they are powerful and if the boat gets stuck could pull the front off at least with a hand winch you can feel the resistance,would be better winching trailer down
or, better still, save your money and just head to Caernarfon and ty calch, you can get a lot of launches for the price of a winch and your motor won't go near that nasty salty wet stuff
i'd rather spend me 'ard earned dosh on a rib, they don't rust away with the salty wet stuff
My last dico did exactly that, cost a fortune in repairs welding, parts etc... shall I go on I have hardly spent anything on my Terrano in the 5yrs I've had it. And she still looks good.
