Anyone using a seperate wireless go anywhere broadband connection from their Laptop.
I'm considering getting one in the near future but have limited knowledge of their costs and capabilities.
I've just been looking at the Vodaphone deal at £25 for 3G connectivity and 3 GB download per month. Seems like a good deal anyone got any other ideas ?
I have the use of a Vodafone 3G card from work at the moment. I'm not too impressed with it, but that may be down to the fact that we have proxy issues and it runs encryption software due to customer requirements.
For leisure use, I would just use wireless on any unsecured access point in the area, there always seem to be plenty of them! But if you have to have guaranteed portable internet connectivity at all times, 3G is probably the way to go.
A lot depends on how you use it. If you go over the 3gb they really hit you for costs - for some users the unlimited service actually saves them money.
I thought the 3G bit was only for messages ect from the phone. I don't think a normal 3g phone will give any faster connection to a laptop. (could be wrong tho).
I have spotted that there are some new phone's around giving up to 3 meg download speed, but cost is probable prohibitive.
