Lecture - Building of the Spithead forts.

Could be an interesting lecture by local historian Geoff Salter about the building of the Solent Spithead forts.

Waterlooville Library
7:30pm Thursday 08 May 2008
Cost: £2

I've been to a couple of their lectures before, by the 'Time Team' people and the director of the Butser ancient village. They were very good, and not just a load of pensioners attending either.

If anybody would like me to pick up tickets just let me know.

Nasher.

Really interesting. I worked on Horse Sands Fort when it was leased to the Civil Service. I found walking around the maze of coridoors and exploring the different rooms amazing. Well in the middle used to pump fresh water from an underground stream. Even discovered a foundry with rubber bellows intacked.

I'd like a ticket too please

No problem guys, I'll get to the library at the weekend and get some more.

Myself and Middle Nasher have already got ours.
