Life Jacket Hire

I normally boat with experienced crew, who have all the correct equipment but this summer I am taking the family out for a few day trips. As they don't have any stuff anyone know if its possible to hire lifejackets for a reasonable price for a week -auto type.

Would be looking for 5 ideally.

Going to take some convincing that it'll be cheaper to hire:

Life Jacket Hire - Tool Hire, Equipment Hire, Lifting Hire, Plumbing & Pipe Hire - Brandon Tool Hire

I realise they are aiming for a different market. I'm sure one of the London slips said they hire recently.

If you are confident that you don't need need any fancy stuff (lights, spray hoods, hammar) you'd probably get a basic auto for about £40-45 each which is the equivalent of £8 a day. Plus you need to pick them up and return them and unless its local you end up with extra days of hire there.

If its possibly cheaper I'd be surprised and if it is I'd guess it wouldn't be the following year if you needed a repeat...

Maybe better to speak with a rib rides company and see if they have old stock they are clearing that would be cheaper still...

Might just be cheaper to buy a set and then resell at a small loss?

I'd buy a set. Amazon has them at fourty quid each. Buy them, use them, clean them, store them and ready for next time.

If they enjoy the session you might as well be prepared for the next one.

Yeah I think you guys are right.

Just looked and it's like £40 +vat a week to hire them, plus the messing about getting them and sending them back.

Buy jackets and sell on, if you really need too.
I would strongly recommend the Parmaris Raider 150N.

Parmaris 150N Raider Marine Lifejacket - Parmaris lifejackets online

We use them commercially, they clock up 100's if not 1000's of hours use.
Should be able to purchase at sub £40 and sell on for at least £25+ if you decide to.
Tell them Steve at Poole Sea Safari recommended, they might do you a deal??

Try trailerbloke on here. Simeon often has LJ's for sale that are only 1 season old. I know he was selling some recently but they may have all gone by now.

Worked for me - I have a spare manual inflate that came this way.

Worst case is I've a coupe of foam ones you could use - I can guarantee I won't be needing them that weekend

It will have been "Trailer Bloke" not "Trailer Guy"

Your spot on Chris, Trailer Bloke is Simeon correct.

Yes Trailer Bloke is Simeon from Saber Powersports who runs the offshore powerboat experience trips. Trailer Guy I believe is very good at fixing and servicing trailers.
