How would you find out?
It' still connected when i search, so atleast its connecting,
i've done a virus scan on my pc and everything is fine
i've reinstalled the dam thing twice
and ive posted a thread on the limewire forums, but sinse im a basic customer know one wants to know about my problems.
I've also attempted downloading bearshare, but towards the end of the installation it says it couldn't find some path or file or somthing, to be honest i think thats my antispyware or antivirus blocking it.
I've heard of kazaa but not too sure how reliable that is
Any other suggestions??
I need my music back ready for christmas!!!

Have you recently installed something that may be causing a problem?
Many of these progs are a nightmare as they are stuffed full of spyware so it could be your antispyware stuff blocking it - try turning it off but NOT your antivirus or firewall.
Bearshare is much better so try again - maybe download a different version. If you have probs post the proper error message - cab be a bit tricky to set up with a firewall.
And to all the hypocrites in this world - especially people like the RIAA they need to get real - prosecuting kids will NOT do them any favours!!! Yes it may be wrong but I don't know of a single teenager with a computer who doesn't download music.
Rather than prosecute why don't they realise that maybe if they were to charge sensible money for downloads this wouldn't happen. They actually charge thje same for downloading as you can buy the CD for - bonkers - no distribution costs - no middle man nothing!!!

Soulseek is the only way to go. It's really easy to use and pretty much always finds what you are looking for.
Kazaa is rubbish in my opinin.

I agree when one is talking about buying an entire album. There is currently little point in downloading it. But I think 79p for the odd track is fine. They are of relative high sound quality and it doesn't fill one's PC full of viruses etc.

Wouldn't touch that encrypted crap!!! What if I want to use them on something other than an ipod??? Yes they can be hacked but rather defeats the object!!!
Roll on the day when you can download straight from the band's own website and all the royalties go straight to them - cut out the corrupt middlemen!!!

People get too hung up on that 'what if I want to use it on something other than an iPod. iTunes do have DRM on them but, hey, so what. You *own* the music and you can burn up to 10 CDs for yourself and friends. You can play the music on up to 5 differnet computers too.
There is enough scope in the DRM restrictons for most people and iPods work so well with iTunes, it is the most elegant solution available at the moment.

Where are you searching?
212 returns for songs by Madonna and a multitude of others with other people on my Napster.
For £10 a month for unlimited downloads to PC and live streaming (£15 pm if you want to put it on a player) I don't think you can go wrong.
