London to Dakar Jan 2008

Not really RIB related but JK will move to correct location.
I know a number of RIB owners also have 4x4 .
I am toying with a trip overland to either Dakar or Gambia JAN 2008 .
Outline to drive in loose convoy with a mate or two on motorbikes bush camping and then ship back .Not planning to use these guys but similar route etc http://www.kuduexpeditions.com/expeditions.htm.
We will be in either a Disco or 130 Crew cab .
Any one who like the idea get in touch and lets chat about it . We could take a SIB on the roof to use enroute !

We have considered it either in the defender or disco, but never looked into it in more detail.

I have quite a few friends in the Gambia who could be of use - I am also thinking of starting a business over there - we will see.

I can be quite handy with a spanner

I was offered a job several years back doing rough safaris in Africa using ex-army TK's after passing my class 2 HGV. I almost wish I'd done it now but the pay was so poor I had to turn it down. Apparently they were quite impressed that I'd done a lot of offroad training using 110's with 7 people aboard
