Mackrel

Anyone know if the mackerel have turned up yet around Poole/Swanage area? Anyone been out yet?

I've seen the gulls starting to work in Portsmouth Harbour so it won't be long.

A FEW around Down this way...but not like they should be!...Infact All Fisheries are well Down for the Time of Year... The Pro's Reckon its a Coombination of Cold and Bad Weather.In fact Comercial Fisherman I know told me Newlyn Fish Market (Wholesale) was,only Last week.. Open at 6.45 AND CLOSED at 7.15!!..Which Very Rarely Happens!
Can All Change Quickly though!! Hopefully it Will..SOON!

They're in the solent but not many being caught to normal feathers. Try smaller sabikies.

We bought a small deep fat fryer when I caught some cod last winter and had beer battered cod on the beach (we were fortunate enough to have 240v power but had to substitute beer for stella)

Hoping to get some Mackerel this weekend and try a Mackerel bap:
