I also found this highly amusing - these 2 extracts were the best!!!
UK military spokesman Major Mike Shearer said: "We can categorically state that we have not released man-eating badgers into the area.
One housewife, Suad Hassan, 30, claimed she had been attacked by one of the badgers as she slept.
"My husband hurried to shoot it but it was as swift as a deer," she said. "It is the size of a dog but his head is like a monkey," she told AFP.

I have never seen a man eating badger, but I've seen a man eating chicken . . .
Sorry.

Ther is a "well worn story" about a car full of university students that were driving home from the local bar on a forest road. They spotted a badger running alonside the road in the headlights. They decided that the badger would make a fine mascot for their football team so stopped the car and approached badger. Somehow they got it cornered and one guy dived on top of it to capture. Really bad idea. He was later released from hospital with hundreds of stitches.
I recently watched a TV news article where a mountain lion had a badger cornered in a small rocky box canyon. The lion gave up his dinner and slinked away.
Don't mess with badgers.

I was driving a mk1 escort when a badger ran out in front of me a good few years ago and I hit it.
It took 3 of us and a big coat thrown over it to get the wounded badger in the boot to get it to the vets.

Mk 1 Escort ? did not think you were that old, apart from the big bum
I perceive that you are a motorbike fan. what do you currently run? I am an Triumph fan having owned Cubs, a 21 and two TR6's. ( both 1961). Was Sat night at the Ace Cafe on the N. circular before your time?

Hi Linda,
I'm not. It was one of those bright orange boy racer cars that were prolific at the end of the 80s
