Done 12,000 now & still going strong
I will be taking it to the garage at 15,000 for it's first service though!
Do you not plan on getting yours serviced?

Did it myself NIck at 10000 miles. Afer all its only " cheap korean stuff"
Cost me a tenner for an oil filter and 30 quids worth of engine oil. Its not complicated. The only problem I have had ---and it was my fault -I used a jerry can containing petrol and methanol - that had been used to clean out the rib's tanks and then inadvertingly put it in the Kia.It messed up one of the injectors -but draining the tank and putting in 'fresh petrol' and a good cleaning
injector additive - cured it completely. The only hassel will be changing the timing belt at 60.000 miles.

Nowadays- its all about minimum cost for maximum effect.

I know this thread started a loooonnnnngggg time ago! BUT I have Shogun Sport 2.5 which I use for towing all sorts of things and it is a much better towing 4x4 than my old Disco 2.5Tdi - Its much more stable on its 18" wheels at speed and actually corners with out too much body roll - I have also just seen that I can now also buy AT tyres to fit the wheels as well! I would recommend one of these with a shadow of doubt - You can also pcik up some amazing deals with dealers as well I got £4k off my new warrior spec. I bought a tow bar and fitted it myself but left the electrics to bank farm trailers to do - no problems with them getting wet at moment - but I do spray with WD40 after use etc. quite usefully it also has an aux 12v socket in the boot which I can plug my remote control marine spot into and suction to the roof for night reversing and recovery. Also have amber strobes fitted way behind the grill for making myself be seen when driving up on slips in dusk light and reversing into friends dog legged drive in Devon

Dont let the dealer sell you remote locking though!!! its just a plain COBRA unit which you can get cheaper from a local specialist for 1/2 the price.

Also had back windows tinted for 2 reasons one hides the contents of the boot area also keeps the sun out of the kids eyes!!!

Ok it does not have diff lock but to be honest that just seizes up on most discos as its not used and TD5's mostly did not have it fitted. If somebody wants to give me a Disco 3 though I'll glady long term test it!

So when you see a rib on the M4 / M5 behind a black pimpmobile its me!
