.mobi domain names

I was thinking of buying a .mobi domain name. What do you guys think of the future for this?

Probably as good as the .name, .eu, uk.com, .pro, .me.uk, .shop.... etc

my personal advice is to stick with a .com if possible, if not a .co.uk, or possibly.net

If you tell someone a url, or even if they read it somewhere.. the chances are they will be trying to add .com or .co.uk to the ened..

i thought .mobi domains were aimed at sites desinged for use on handheld devices (like mobile phones). if I am right then for "normal" usage it could be confusing. but if your site is specifically designed for mobile usage it might be better

[edit - another consideration if it is for mobile usage is how many key strokes does it take to enter your domain. keep the name short - oh and mobi (9) requires more than say com or org(both 7) which although more memorable still needs more than tel (6) net (5) or the obscure eu (4) - assume predictive text is turned off]
