Won't be too tedious for you though, being as you don't do much more than that in a season

Bugger - missed it, been out in the garage swapping Alternators in Mrs Nashers car
Had a good chat with Monty a couple of months ago at the dive show, seamed like a nice guy, and certainly knows what he's talking about.
I've enjoyed his previous series partly because of his style of presenting and the way it was filmed, and can understand the 'muppet' comment being made in the nicest possible way. I think the 'have a go and maybe make a mess of it' attitude sometimes makes him appear a little that way, but I'm sure he's not, and it just helps the viewer relate to what he's doing.
Oh, and I'm not sure I want to watch it without Reuben.
I did ask Monty what it was like being upstaged by your own dog, he replied that he was pleased Reuben was so popular and promptly signed a bookmark for me with a pawprint.

I thought it was great ,insight to small community way of life and some proper characters emerging.
Monty is a top bloke and is natural in the way he comes across so shall look forward to this each week.

You are correct Tim a lovely place and community were wonderful. There was a series years ago on fishing at cadgwith. As I said the pub the cadgwith cove inn is run by two great people who were outsiders like us . They were next door to us and the other side was a fisherman who would bring in some of the catch. Despite the outsiders issue some west country people show this Area was wonderful.

Monty comes across as a likable bloke, I think that he is suffering from the general dumbing down that most TV programs are subject to. I just get the impression that programme producers think that we, the great unwashed are as thick as pig sh1t & that all progs have to be served up in McDonald's format. Any special interest programme these days has to be tailored to the couch slob. I can't watch diving programmes anymore unless I have the sound turned off, due to some twonk going to run out of "Oxygen" & suffer the dreaded "bends" after a 20 min 10M dive on some kelp covered reef.
There, I feel better now

".....or they will die"
"detiorating conditions mean if they do not reach land soon, they will die..."
know what you mean, however, joe public is that habituated to this diet of dumbed down utter bollix that if they saw a successful programme without such tosh it would be deemed boring.
Monty Halls writes a bit better than his prog allows him to speak, has a regular colounm in the BSAC dive mag that appears every month. Not enough ribs in it for me though....
