Multi function battleclub

With more than a friendly nod to Douglas Adams I have decided to get Jasper to splash out on his poor grey old fathers Xmaz prsent and get me a fkkn proper knife to lose within the following month.

Whats the best make Leathermans or Gerbers ( I don't want no shite made by Gnomes, neither ) any advice or reccomendations

I have a Gerber which so far has resisted the temptation to go all rusty, despite a couple of dunkings over the last 4 years.

It has 2 blades, one conventional and one scolloped which hold an edge for a reasonable time for stainless, flat nosed pliers with good wire cutters, 1 No.2 pozidrive and 2 flat screwdrivers, a file, a hook thing which I have not found a use for and most important a bottle opener.
All the tools/blades lock open so you cant chop your fingers off too easily.
I never go to sea without it, therefore I have never needed it.

It main claim to fame is helping fix Nashers engine in Cowes.

I love my gerber legend - really is better than the leatherman I had before BUT they have left off a bloody tin opener - MOST annoying!!!

The wire cutters on it are great with replacable carbide tips.
