Originally I was looking at fully inflatable boats, brand new. However next month there is going to be a 5.4m Avon Searider with a 70hp outboard up for sale.

Matt. I'm not speaking to you any more.

Sorry Keith

Only just spotted this (don't get much time to browse RIBnet anymore).

However, it's looking like I will be going for a proper inflatable again. Getting a car after Christmas, and having got quotes for the insurance, it'd take me quite a while to save up for a RIB. £210 per MONTH for a 1.6 Escort, eek. It's not nice to be 18 when it comes to insurance!

Sadly the insurance isn't much less on old bangers powered by elastic bands, it's the whole fact that I'm male and 18, and so MUST be a boy racer, who'll find a way to cause massive damage no matter how pathetic the car is. And for the sake of the differences involved, I'd rather get the 1.6, especially with the roads being how they are round here. The number of students in town who have 1.2 Corsas that simply refuse to go up the hills is just daft

Thing is, if I wait until February before I drive the car I'm getting, my insurance will be £40 per month cheaper just because I'll be 19. So obviously the 3 months between now and then is the time during which I will go beyond the boy racer phase and I will suddenly become so much more responsible! Got to love the way insurance quotes work.
