Well we have had our first flight and are very impressed. If any of you are thinking of getting your first DJI drone I would say go for it. Here is a little video of how to set this one up and our first flight. More fun to come

If anyone is thinking of getting this lovely little fun drone there is a £169 option which is the drone only. Here is a video of how to set this option up and how you can fly it with your phone

As so many have said this use of the drone on its own with no controllers or phone is very easy and quite incredible. Here is our first effort. I am loving it. Video below

I really like the concept of follow me/ land on me etc and for £169 the tech involved is just amazing. Such a pity they make so much noise though.

For the video recording you can cancel out the drone noise and record speech from your phone. See video below.

In real life the sound is not as bad as it seems on video

Looks like a game changer for drones. Had a few over the years, Parrot anafi was the best had a host of functions follow me and pre planned flight plans which was incredible tbh. Swapped for a dj mini 3 and tbh it's very limited , no follow me or mapping and it cost £400. Think I maybe be selling and buying a neo, nice video, thanks.

Will the follow me do anything other than "walk" behind you.... like track a SIB/motorbike at 200m?

The Neo is not as good as a mini 3 but you should have got the mini 3 Pro Very different drone to the Mini 3. Now there is of course the Mini 4 Pro.

The Neo is not the drone for what you want to do

It will do many things to numerous to mention but no it will not follow a motorbike at 200m. The Mini 4 Pro or the Air 3 or for that matter the Mini 3 Pro will do that sort of thing but 200 m might be stretching it a bit.

Ahh OK. I know nothing of drones but watch a motorcycle adventurer who rides tracks at perhaps 30-40mph with a drone auto following from what looks a significant height. Probably the wide angle nature of these lenses giving that impression of height.

There is so much you can do with this little Drone. I just had a go with it in FPV mode wearing the DJI Goggles 3 and using the Motion Controller and what fun it is. Little video below

To all that might be reading this thread. I am certainly no FPV pilot and I would say I am a very average Drone flyer. Below is a recording of what you see in the goggles 3 flying the Neo. This is about my 4th ever FPV flight and you can see the drone hits a couple of things. This is in Normal mode but my it seems quite fast in the goggles. It is so much fun. If funds allow and you have the Neo I can certainly recommend a set of goggles 3 and the motion controller 3.

I saw a review on these where they weren't advised for boating. In sports mode they max at around 28kh or in nautical terms 15kts. Given many boats will be able to do 30-40kts and sea breezes will very, this unit would only be suitable for slower boats on less windy days. For a low cost drone to do as shown in the videos though, obviously it's going to fine.

You are right about the speed although they have increased it a bit. These are very versatile and quite good value but their main use is FPV. The other camera drones such as the DJI mini series are best for boating
