New Scam to watch out for

Was called today by someone claiming to be the UK Website Register Office and apparently someone was trying to register www.griffmarineservices.com now my site is www.griffmarineservices.co.uk so no problem I said. No you are not registered as this . We have an obligation to hold your site for 30 mins after that your site will be lost . You should buy .net .org and .com to safeguard your site
and pay by credit card within 30 mins, after falling off me seat with laughter and congratulating him on a great scam he hung up ???. Please be aware of this as it sounded very good.

We had the same scam a couple of years ago and we were threatened that the new website would take business away from us. We were informed that it could be one of our competitors and they could be trying to diss us.

When I was given the 30 minute deadline, I saw it for what it was and told them to take a hike in no uncertain terms.

The woman then came out with the classic line "Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger"
