New Toy

The bores on my Ducati M900 are looking good, but there is a little carbon on the piston tops.

And the rearmost corners of the tank on my Ducati 900SS project are in quite good shape compared to most. But I'll need to swish some rust killer in there sooner rather than later.

My new Toy arrived yesterday.

https://www.drapertools.com/product/...i-Fi-Endoscope

I'm really impressed with it for the price, except the right angle mirror attachment which isn't very clear.
The magnet attachment to retrieve small items is great as is the small hook.
The stills are good quality, but I've not recorded a video yet.

And far from being too dim I've found the image quality is better with the LEDs in the end turned down to Half power.

Yet another phone App though.

I actually brought it to inspect a couple of areas in The Nashers Revenge Hull that I can't get to, but I think it's going to be useful in the workshop, but maybe more on my Landrover than anything else.

I'll certainly be having a quick look down the plug holes of the Optimax 225 I've got arriving in the next couple of days.

If you're getting the plugs out, change them-particularly the bottom ones unless recently done. They aren't easy.

Nice toy, could do with one myself.

Ducati's and Land Rovers - you must be a glutton for punishment.

I like the endoscope though.

@Nasher - knowing you like an "interesting toy", take a look at the CTEK Battery sense. They're ace!

How are you you finding it? The reviews on the app store don't paint a pretty picture

It’s certainly not a 5* app, but it’s not 1* either.

It has a few quirks, but does the job perfectly well and reliably
I’d probably score the app UI 3, but the overall solution including the hardware and the behind the scenes maths and logging a 4

The actual worst thing is the limitations on Bluetooth range. Can get an easy 30, maybe 40 feet on the boat batteries in open air, but going through brick walls the range reduces.

Overall it’s good, especially for things where it’s not convenient to leave them permanently on charge and that aren’t always in frequent use.

Hey Matt, and thanks, will have a look at it.

My D4 is plugged into a CTEK via the tow socket and waterproof cable to the garage when I'm not using it for a few days.

It sits on the drive doing various things all on it's own and runs it's battery down.
Sending me text messages to tell me where it is and what the balance is on the SIM card in it amuses me.

Nasher.

Here you go - enough detail on the graphs to see that when I fired it up on the hose on Sunday for maybe 10 minutes, the alternator works (first run since I put it all back together and included a new alternator). Can't run it for longer than that - hosepipe doesn't have enough flow to keep everything cool.

My neighbours love me, honest (I have a large silencer I put on it for home running)
