nine engines *.*pic

Hi folks,

first of all a big hallo to everyone and please forgive my faults in grammar etc. ´cause it´s a long time ago i´ve learned english in school.
I´ll hope everybody will understand me and my questions i´ll ask u all in the future. And here´s the first: Few days ago i found some pic of a boat with 8 or 9 engines on the back -but i can´t find it anymore. Does anybody get the link or the pic 4 me?
Thanks a lot.

Trolli

@MadMat

No it isn´t :-(
I can remember it was not really a Rip...and it was taken somewhere right in front of the harbour of - i think - Monaco.

Unfortunately, I know the photo you mean, I must be very very geeky.

Those crompton ones are meaty enough for me, 1250hp in outboards!!! Surely there's a time when you just know inboards are the way to go. Anyone know what the 5 engine jobbie was built for?

i just remember the engines were made by Evinrude - i think 9x250 V6 or maybe V8 (but i´m not sure about the V8 but 100% Evinrude and 100% no RIB.

Saw an artical once about a drug smuggler gang getting caught and the police recovering a couple of Ally Ridgid raider syle craft with 6x250hp outboards and a 0.25"/6mm armoured plated steel sheald bolted to the back.

This all happen in Singapore, I think.

Anyone else see this artical?

Hi Trolli

An early rib (1962) with 9 engines appears on the outside back cover of the Zodiac brochure 2002/2003. I have attached a poor quality photo of it. MeMe you may notice that there is a stripped tent on deck which appears to be the same pattern as the medline1 cushions such foresight from 40 years ago!!

And if you look a bit closer, you can just make out a bloke in a tight-fitting poloneck and platform shoes....such style from 40 years ago!!

Imagine servicing it. It'd take a whole day to change the spark plugs.
