One for Codders!!

Well, the missus went back to Wales for a months vacation and all I got was a stinking T shirt
Actually she went one better and brought back a nice addition to my RIB.
So thanks to Codders for researching where to shop for flags.

This shot was taken by a wedding photographer aboard a harbour cruise ship, who set it on to me.
So the dragon , must have worked and attracted some attention.
Sorry it's wrapped around the pole a little!

So the Welsh Dragon is happily cruising around San Diego waters. Just have to educate the Americans now that is not the Scottish flag (2 guessed that so far )
cheers dal

Flipping awesome. All you need now is a skull and crossbones - most of the pirates were Welsh!!!

You will be suprised - Welsh people get everywhere. I was in Boston Harbour one day and the biggest yacht there was called "Cariad" - spoke to the owner who happened to be from Swansea originally.

Hey Cod, I thought the VIKINGS were the original pirates... Didn't they rape, pillage and plunder the British Isles back in the day? Hell they made it all the way to the Americas before they were called the Americas, first Europeans to discover this continent supposedly. Tough sons of bitches... sailing across the Atlantic in the winter half naked, probably their idea of a good weekend outing! Hey Sven, lets drop by Wales pick up a couple of wenches and head for that continent across the way, make sure you bring the mead! O.K. Lars... I'll git the long boat ready...

Actually the name Swansea is derived from the Viking - "Swayne". Worms Head is so called because it looks like a sleeping dragon - Wurm is the Viking word for Dragon. There are Viking burial mounds on top of the hill overlooking it.

The Vikings didn't really cause that much trouble in Wales - they only stayed because the local people burnt their boats so they couldn't leave!!!

It is very likely the Vikings reached america early on but there is also some evidence that Welsh and Irish princes also reached the USA - possibly as early as 500AD!!!

Omigod! Do you mean that we are all really Scandinavian/Welsh/Irish/native American/ mongrels? Well I guess that explains why my friends to the North say "EH" and why we Mericans love guns... It fits. Where the hell is my longboat? Stoo... grab the horn us Viking bastards love to blow... We are about to pillage the Great Lakes... Valhalla awaits us!!
