Bloody ell...that coulda been v serious indeed!! It seems to have missed the rock with the pole on it and gone between it and the rocks on land.

Very grateful no one was hurt and it sounds like they missed the majority of the port infrastructure.

If that doesn't work search for Hebrides and view 'Past Track'

I'm sure there will be an investigation but my punt is that the starboard bridge wing controls were desynchronised and by the time they realised, they were too late to do anything about it. Red Funnel suffered from a similar calamity about ten years ago.

Thirty plus years ago, there was fairly often a CalMac ferry marking the shallow bits on the way out of Lochmaddy / Lochboisdale. It didn't make the news then.

As PD says, any yacht crew enjoying the morning at the end of the marina would have required a change of underwear.
