May only be relevant to the Students.....
Whos done their Pass Plus?
How much was it?
Did you find it worthwhile in assisting with motorway driving?
And did it bring down your car insurance?

Cheers guys,

Alex

Not really - I was already driving on the A2 in Kent, which is 3 lanes each way etc, so had already experienced something akin to motorway driving. Was good with the country lanes stuff though.

Seems like a good deal then, I have done abit of motorway driving but not extensively so the experience would be worth while, and any money off car insurance has to be gd!
Cheers Jimbo,

Alex

I've done it. Duno how much it cost cos' mummy paid :-)
It didnt really teach me anything. I think its mainly about gaining experiance than being tested etc. Norwich Union gave me a 50% (yes thats 50%) discount on my car insruance. I currently pay £489 a year....

Well worth doing!

You did country lanes stuff in pass-pluss? Interesting: I didn't. I spose the instructor assumed that the Norfolk roads I had been learning on were countrified enough....

Is that £489 your own policy? Its a Punto 1.2 if I recall? Can't be bad, I was paying £300 to be a named driver on a Polo 1.0 (very low insurance group.)
May look into booking this over easter
Cheers guys,

Alex

Not any more: I'm now driving an Astra (following the advice on this forum!) 1.7 turbo diesel. And yes, that's my own policy....

Well, I passed my test 18 months ago so I think so.

Im a bit worried though; I got flashed by a speed camera the other day. Just praying it didn't have any film in it!

Yeah starting with only 6 points makes you drive like a nun, 2 flashes and your banned, back down the theory test centre
I ve got one of those arrangements where my Gran drives my car on a regular basis so I ve got a few more points to play with

Get a can of that number spray as well, gave the polo's rear plate a liberal spraying, 'It must have had it on when I bought it officer'.
With a digital camera flash it appears to work, or alternatively you could just not speed!!

Hairspray has the same effect I believe.

Come to think of it, I'm sure it was my mother driving that day
