Photo Editing Software

Can anyone recommend a decent photo editing software package that I can download for free? I appear to have lost Photoshop Elements 2 from my pc. I just want to crop, change contrast levels etc.

Cheers

Ian

I WAS going to advise on Paintshop Pro but they seem to have been taken over by corel - they still have a free download but it is time limited to 30 days. If you can be bothered go to www.corel.com

Thanks Andy,

Macs look a little scary to a computer illiterate fool like me - I barely understand Microsoft stuff…

However, I need to replace my computer in the next few months. Are Macs the way to go for photo/media applications?

Cheers
