Managed to get the front cover to a national magazine over here called Sea History
Sort of nice to see the shot all tidied up and out there!!
Was a series of shots I did while covering the Star of India annual sail.
My RIB was perfect for the job and had the advantage of several of the other press hard boats out that day.
The fast acceleration and manouverabilty gave the Captain confidence that I would be well out of the way, especially for the bow shots. Also as he said, they were confident, as I was just "one big fender" ( Hope thats a compliment
) And with the "bright safety orange" colour scheme ,I was very visible
With the strong swell that day,it was great to be able to "cling onto the pod seating" with my knees and give me a stable platform to shoot from. So dont think there's another craft that could do the job as well
Hope you like it,
cheers Dal
