Photos in RIB International

If anyones interested and didn't read any of the banter in some of other the threads...

I have 4 pics in the latest (well 5 if you count the incy wincy one in on the contents page) edition of RIB International. Pages 30 and 32 of the Cowes classic and on page 44 (pic of seahound).

My mum is very proud

Well done Tim. The pics are great - hadn't spotted the one of Seahound before - very cool photo. Hope you got the business side of things sorted!

Great Idea

Nice pics Tim, if your looking for photogenic opportunities your always welcome to come south and photo the sub 5 gang (and its many hangers on) at some point on one of our regular jaunts out, this way we might get some decent pics rather than the normal out of focus drool provided by TD5

Hey theres an idea...why not write an article about cruising on the Thames Estuary with the Ribnet kent and Essex sub 5 metre gang, Lord D can consult on the native bird species in Essex and kent, the best places to shoot them and supply recipe suggestions, TD5 can point out all the local speed restrictions and mooring sites as he's fast becoming an expert and if you need a touch of glamour we can invite Louise down for the day/weekend if Rich B will let her out for the weekend.

Well thanks Bilge - never considered myself to be 'glamorous'! Think I better look away when Tim's pointing the camera - wouldn't want to break his expensive toy!

I would be honoured to join the Kent & Essex Sub-5m Gang on a cruise. Think I better bring Richard B along too, though - I've been reading the posts about bird-hunting and I'm a bit scared of Lord D.

See you soon then guys!

Edit: just thought of the 'other' definition of 'glamour' in connection with photography! You do NOT want to see me in anything less than full set of waterproofs, wellies and Gecko! Trust me!

Scary we are Sarf not South....silly man

Louise dont be worried his Lordship would be on his best behaviour if you and tricky B come down for the weekends photo shoot, in fact he'd be completely thrilled that there's another Gekko wearer along as he gets a little intimidated being the only Geeko in Essex

Bradwell on mud or Hernia bay arnt the most glamourous of locations for a photo shoot, we dont have historic Cowes or Yarmouth or the Royal Navy hanging about in our back yard, but we do have the ww2 sea forts and the mulberry harbour at Southend on sea, the ww2 ammunition ship the USS Richard Montgomery and by next summer Whitstable will have a working wind farm to have a closer look at. The medway is full of navy history with the dockyards at chattam and the Russia submarine, plus Rochester castle viewed from the river, the isle of sheppy is where kent keeps most of its criminals, single parent families and Pikkies these days, worth a wave at the jeering youths panel stripping stolen cars as we power past through on our way into the swale and then onto the Historic harbour of Whistable for lunch at the famous Oyster house, or one of the numerous harbour side fish resturants, keep a close eye out for television stars as Bruce Forsyth, Suggs, Janet Street porter and Sir bob geldoff live in the area, and i live three doors along from Grant out of east enders no less

Also forgot to mention that Barry out of Eastenders also lives in Whitsable, but no one seems to worry about him as he's only a minor star these days after getting rolled down a hill

yeah Yeah Yeah Ramsgate's ok they do have a bigger harbour but ours is more pretty and picturesque in summer, the bbc are always filming period dramas in the harbour as it still keeps its victorian charm to this day.

Hey boys - please don't fight over little me! Maybe me & Mr B should do a tour? We could begin in Ramsgate, then up to the Kent & Essex sub 5ers, then cut across to the NWR crew!

Just give us some dates and we'll plan the full itinery!

hey dont worry about all the details, tell us when you want to come up and we'll organise everything this end for you, JB can lay on some sponsorship goodies for the weekend and we'll make sure ICOM gets in the pics somewhere we'll also get him to give us an organised tour around the factory at the same time too

Sounds good to me.
Am well up for that and a tour here would be no problem at all.
If you are staying in BG's part of the world i can recomend the Continental Hotel. We put all our visitors in there.

If HMS is coming down he will want to put in here, even more so as we are helping with the new Rib Int boat!

Regards

Bloody 'ell, so many replies! I'm too tired to really understand what is going on here, but I think the general gist is that I'm in demand !

I am always up for taking shots of people when I am out, so if any of you sub 5ers venture down saaaaaarrf next summer I'll come out and take lots of pics! I'm up to my eye balls in uni work at the moment so don't have a lot of time spare, but try me, I could be tempted (especially if someone mentions free beer )!

So when was ICOM going to offer me a lucrative photography commission?!

Cheers

Tim
