Pick the collective brains of the NW / N Wales Ribbers

We're heading up to do a week in the NW working down to N Wales next week....

Ribble, Wyre, Lune, Mersey, Conwy....

Think we will be leaving Pembs and heading up via Aberystwyth, Dolgellau and across /up to Chester....then M56 / M6 motorway when I cross into England....

Not in any real hurry to get up there and was wondering if there was a nicer route /avoiding motorways....which way (if different) do any of you guys tow /come?

Thanks, Dan
