Possible scam using Police as intro

I received two calls today to business line from unknown source ID. The second call identified himself as Paul Jones Hampshire Community Police Team and started to talk about boating and then supporting them. I asked their name and details and guess what he hung up.

I have called Hampshire police and they only have one Paul Jones and certainly he is not working in a team as described. I think this lot are targetting business in Hampshire, so forewarned is a good start. Second one is let them waste money talking before you hang up

I've had similar calls from "Sky" telling me that my "insurance was about to run out and it could be renewed for a special price of £8 per month"
I don't have Sky, and have never had it.
Guess what....they wanted my credit card details to "renew the insurance at this special price"
I wonder how many old people get conned by this one. I suppose that if you DID have Sky and were not that clued up you might think it was genuine.
