Yeah, I thought the water tower in the background looked familiar......

Used to sail out of Stone before life took me north. Still got the grubby marks at the top of my sails from the mud.....

Sold my RIB when I emigrated just over 5 years ago. Toy now is a quad for hitting the trails - of which there is a huge abundance here!

I could bore you with other cars too - but I'll resist!

I think the Ribeye 650 is a great starter for someone so massively inexperienced as me... I could be tempted into a Sheerwater (for example) or any number of things, but ultimately the family want to go to Cowes for lunch and that's it. So I'm not being pushed towards something bigger and faster.

You'll have read maybe that I had an accident in the boat in the summer (completely my fault), a badly dislocated shoulder and, without being overly dramatic, it could have been fatal had I not been wearing a jacket. So I'm a bit twitchy about the RIB at the moment - looking forward to my confidence coming back next spring/summer.

Maybe there'll be something bigger in a few years, don't know!

You never 'want' anything bigger/ faster - until you try one outand then you find yourself 'needing' it. Go on buy a Shearwater & stick a 350 verado on it - you will love it !

Paul - in answer to the questions - lol

a. They both seem to hold the value very well - if looked after
b. I only did 180 miles in the Lotus the year we sold her
c. In the year we sold her tax, insurance, service and MOT was over £1400 - so that was £7 per mile without fuel

Very lovely car - miss having her sat on the drive but a very expensive toy that had little use and could never involve the whole family - hence why after four years of ownership I let her go - the RIB is much more fun for everybody - much cheaper and less likely to be badly damaged due to poor driving or wet weather - Toady loved to slide around wet roundabouts - good fun but did'nt help with the grey hair issue - thankfully she never came off the road but it was huge grin inducing fun getting away at traffic lights before everybody else

I'm such a little kid - pathetic!!
