Problem...which Islay Malt
Have a nice but difficult problem, which I know I'll get good advice on here....
Just been awarded £50 Amazon vouchers from work, for winning a complex - what I'm paid to do really but still nice.
My thoughts obvious turned to a decent bottle of Islay malt (via Amazon)
3 stand out which I've never had before all a bit over £50.
Ardberg Corryvreckan
Talisker Port Ruichge
Laphroaig Lore
Which to choose???

Out of those 3, I’d go for either the Lagavulin distillers edition or the Ardbeg.
*Talisker is Skye not Islay.

My choice would be the Laphroaig Lore or the Ardbeg or the Talisker
Decisions, decisions, decisions
Seriously the Laphroaig Lore would be my choice.

Ponder no more:
Buy the Corry, it is superb. I generally collect mine in person.
You've discounted Talisker on geography. iMHO it's an Also Ran at best.
I often use whisky for medicinal purposes. In the case of Laphroaig, cleaning cuts and abrasions...

The same way that if I had the choice of Ribcraft, Humber or Brig, I'd pick Redbay?

Fifteen years ago on one of the Redbay / Islay trips my wife bought me a bottle of Ardbeg " Lord of the Isles " I was about to open it the celebrate my 70 th birthday three years ago ,till I checked on the current value .I chickened out and it's still sat there .I think I'll pass it on to my son as a family heirloom!

I’m in a similar predicament, got an unopened bottle of this in the cellar. I get it out on special occasions, have a look at it, Google the price & put it back[emoji849]

Found a bottle of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge at mothers, she didn't want it so we took it home, opened it, tried it, found it wasn't great in hot chocolate and put it back in the cupboard.
Then found it it was a £150 bottle of the stuff........... wonder if a 90% full bottle is worth 90% of the £150!!
Mind you, after looking at the Ardbeg " Lord of the Isles" prices it feels like cheap plonk.

The Talisker Port Ruighe (Portree - Skye) is no a bad one - not too smokey.
Ardbeg - nice
I'd get both!

Not sure if I'm the only one thinking this - but what's with the English gadges and unopened bottles of whisky stored in their houses? It's not natural behaviour IMO.
The Police should check their attics and sheds for more - those poor wee bochtails could still live happy (short) lives the way their makers intended!!!

I'm with you willk. I didn't like to say that the oldest bottle of anything I have in my "cellar", apart from the 2019 Argentina Malbec from Aldi, is a half full/empty bottle of 12 year old Cardhu, that will defiantly be gone by...................

I’ve probably got more bottles of whisky than my liver could tackle, but I’m doing my best.....

Laphroaig was the only Scotch allowed into the US during prohibition as it was classed as a medicine.

Guess I'm the odd one out then. I really like the deep, burt wood smokiness of Laphroaig.
