RAS - Replenishment at sea

Ok.... I know a few of you are in the Navy so I just thought I'd ask the question....

I've got to teach a lesson to junior cadets about RAS tomorrow and have got a good ppt which should fill most of the time. I also understand that there are a good few youtube vidoes when searching for "replenishment at sea". Fortunately I just got told about this whole thing, and youtube is always blocked from 7:30 onwards so I can't search for them myself So anyone with any anecdotes or experiences of big style RAS on RFA ships or just two blokes in high powered RIBs pissing about, I'd like to know about it:thumbs

Cheers

Just youtube. And it's supposed to just be for the two hour prep (homework) sesh from 7.15 onwards but it never seems to unblock again 'till the following morning. I'm sure I'll have five mins at some stage tomorrow to have a quick look but anyone who had any experience of RAS may have a better critical eye or original material

There is some cracking stuff from the 50s on British Pathe, but you will be after something more recent.

RFA replenishment at sea

Try this link:

http://www.toysoutofthepram.com/index.html

An unofficial Royal Fleet Auxiliary website that has some good bits on it. Theres a link to Replenishment at Sea down on the left hand index.

...and here was me thinking it was going to be a question about topping up an aux from a 5L plastic petrol can while it was still running....

Have you tried searching Google Video? Plenty of non U-toob vids out there.
