Oh yes, we Irish are very proud of our native sons, Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean

2014 is the Centenary of the expedition. I envisage a lot of boats getting named Endurance.

Precedent has been established

If you look carefully at Raptor's transom, you'll see I wrote "willk's RIB" on it when you were in Dunlaoghaire. Will you deliver or do I have to collect?

Now, before this progresses from a bit of craic to Polyticks and I have to bilge myself, let me concede the point that had we access to Shackleton, he would admit to being both Irish and British.
Tom Crean might struggle a bit to get the words out...

Touche

Either that or purposefully heading to a bank and trying to get air off waves for the sheer exhileration. Just disgraceful behaviour.

Have these people never heard of elf and safety?

Born in County Kildare, Ireland, Shackleton and his Anglo-Irish family moved to Sydenham in suburban London when he was ten. From Wiki.

Tom Crean, nicknamed the "Irish Giant" (20 July 1877 - 27 July 1938) was an Irish seaman and Antarctic explorer from County Kerry. From Wiki.
