recommend a download/software

I have trouble viewing downloaded VIDEO images from my Drift X170 waterproof camera. I have tried it twice and it downloads but I cannot see an image only sound and all my attached software states it cannot read info or similar. Any ideas, simple ones preferred as I wish to copy at home and then load onto a disc to send out. I am using a windows XP base

I used to have problems where I could not see the running image but could hear the sound and it was tracked down to the CODEC having an issue with the type of file. The file type I had an issue with was .wmi or something like that. If it is that sort of problem then others should be able to see the image. I used to use Adobe Premiere it could see the image and I could then save as something else.

I eventually upgraded the CODEC and the problem went away.
