Red Arrows

The Red Arrows will be displaying over Lymington today (Sunday 13th) at 4.30. Just thought I'd mention it if anyone was buzzing around the area....

According to the Lymington Times it's a lavish charity bash (!) thrown by flamboyant portmore millionaire Charles Burnett III to celebrate his smashing of the world lanspeed steam car record. Apparently those that aren't invited to the party (so that's me) can go to the airfield near his residence at Newtown Park, Portmore from 3.30pm - the display is set to start at 4pm and last 15-20 mins.

It's mentioned here and is as detailed above. Although the Arrows confirm the time as 4.30pm not 4pm.

Red Arrows Lymington

Great photos Neil !

Wow what a great treat this afternoon was.

We were driving towards Lymington at about 16:10, came accross the sign to the Red Arrows display (at first we did not believe it - especially in the midddle of nowhere - and also checking this evening it was not even listed on the Red Arrows website) and fortunately I had an HD camera with me and got some brill shots. Now trying to track down some suitable royalty free music which I expect to pay for and once I have that I will post an HD YouTube video which will be at http://www.YouTube.com/webstoreltd

Any idea who we send thanks to at Lymington for a stunning 30-minutes.

Here's a few more.

We saw it mentioned in the Lym times (not sure why I buy it each week but glad I did) and assumed it would be a low key fly past - there were hundreds of people there and a brilliant display!

Isn't it great when you stumble on something like this. Apparently the chap who organised it upset some of the locals (and parish council) a couple of years ago by having a world war II re - enactment (complete with tanks and planes) and I think this was his way of saying sorry. He made a substantial contribution to the Red Arrows charities for the event.
cheers
Neil

Hi
Just a Nikon D40 and 55-200mm lens. I've convinced myself that I need a D90 but it will have to wait till Christmas.
Cheers
