RIBnet links
Following the success of moving the RIBs for sale section onto the forums, I am now looking at various other areas of the site.
Next up is the links page. The new system should make it easier for anyone to suggest links to add. I haven't loaded much information on yet, but have a look here and see what you think.
Cheers
john

Very nice layout, John.
How will you control what links get put on

It looks cleas and simple to use.
You could always add The Great Orkney SIB Expedition 2003 to the 'Ribbsters Home Pages link.

The whole point is that I don't have to. You can add it yourself

John,
I submitted my website, do you let the person know if the site is not worthy? JCW

I think that there is a problem with the link submitting system, as I haven't received yours (I've had three so far -- Bananashark, the Offshore Racing MSN group and RIB Dromedary).
There is also no way of contacting people who have submitted links as the system doesn't log the user name. Look like it needs some more work!

JCW your link has now been added.
Keith, did you submit a link? No sign of it in the system . . .

Sorry if this sounds daft, but I was a bit confused...
So we submit the link(s) ourselves, then there's a delay (possibly varying between a few minutes and a few weeks?) whilst you "moderate" the link, then it appears?
Sounds good to me, I'll try another one. Sorry about the repetition earlier, i thought the firewall had stopped it.
OK - done! I've added those excellent weather sites that Mike G and Ribald posted.

I've 'submitted' my Orkney site twice to the RIB Expeditions page. Each time it told my my link was uploaded but it still hasn't appeared.

Keith - patience
I don't think John has had his bacon butties yet! He'll need a good breakfast to prepare for all that moderating
I think you've got to wait after submitting the link - John checks them and adds them manually, if I understand correctly. I was similarly confused last night (hence the post at the top of this page).
(BTW have you noticed that the "eek" smilie has turned yellow and doesn't have animation any more?)
