ribnet massive neighbour advice needed
My sr lives under a tarp on my drive, next to my fence, which has my neighbours drive the other side. My neighbour smokes.....I don't.
Just been out to sr to do general things....so take the tarp off...and found...fag ends on the boat.
It's not the first time.....first time I let it go..even though the tarp had hole burnt in it...
Do I let it go again, what's best approach to neighbour? Am I right or wrong to be angry?

You have definitely gotta go and talk to him!! It is criminal damage and there is evidence with DNA! Keep it and put it in a bag!!
Go talk to him, if he's ok and receptive/apologetic then leave it at that. If not I'd be going to the cops!

Politely point out that petrol vapours may have built up under the tarp...

I would go and see him as its total lack of respect for you and things you own.
If he carries on the damage could be worse such as damaged tubes or even a fire if you have fuel on board!

More holes in burnt in tarp.
I'm tempted to move the boat and burn the fence panel ......to show what he's doing could be bad......our is that ott? (Need new fence panels anyway!)
I'm having a coffee before I politely knock his door...

Fag ends are a by-product of his pleasure.....
If like me you like the odd drink now and then then urinating is a by-product of our pleasure.......
You get my drift?
Time to get the step ladder out Peter..... ( or perhaps you may not need a step ladder :-))

Can't work out how it's not him....
He stands outside his front door smoking which is just at top of pic (he's clearly not allowed to smoke in the house).

I'm not suggesting it's not him but if he's disgusting enough to throw the butts onto your garden, he'll probably deny it.
It's hard to deny if you hand them to him.

Just go round to see him, and ask him really politely not to do it. That's got to be the first action, surely?

Can you rig up a camera (go pro) just to catch him doing it once. Say nothing about the photo & go & see him as JK says. Be very polite & ask him nicely. Assuming he stays true to type, he'll probably deny it's him, then produce the photo. That way you give him have a chance to be nice & reasonable, if he blows that chance, you can show him to be a lying terwat on top of being a general terwat= Terwat x 2

I agree. POLITELY.
Personally I'd ask him to keep an eye out as someone has been dropping lit fags onto your boat. Obviosly, as there is petrol on it and it's plastic, it may fully ignite and both your houses down. Show him the tarp.
I'd then invest in a small IP cam and burn off a bit of footage of him smoking and flicking (if it continues). My bet is that he'll deny it and continue. He doesn't like you and doesn't care if you know what he's doing or he wouldn't have done it. Unless possibly if he was drunk. Drunks throw fags everywhere...
Often into their own beds
EDIT - Pikey agrees ;-)

All joking aside I think the biggest card if you have (if you have to go to the authorities) is the fire risk. You could get local authorities as well as the fire brigade quite motivated on this. If anyone tries to imply it is not safe to store a rib there etc scream the house down that such behaviour could start a fire on almost anything including a car, dustbin etc etc. Risk to animals/ children also implied!!
It's horrible to have to deal with something like this - but the consequences of such lazy and selfish behaviour is patently unacceptable. I am certain your local brigade would consider sending down a senior officer to deal with this matter on your behalf. Have seen it done in London where people were regularly arcing up an open BBQ against a neighbours fence.
