Scotland had a great game .... if the aussies converted their first 3 trys, we'd have been written off earlier.. but thats rugby..you just never know how it works out till the last minute ..... thats what makes it the great game it is

I.e it doesn't matter how good the game was, the result is all that will be remembered.
As a nation we have developed a unique knack of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm not a big rugby guy, but I watched the second half of the match, it was some of the most exciting rugby I've seen for a long time. in fact it was some of the most exciting sport I've seen in a long time
. At the end of the day winning is just points on the score card - sport should be entertaining otherwise it's just pointless for the millions of spectators. This was definitely entertaining. Even the last minute reversal of fortune added to the overall excitement (despite not being the outcome we'd have dreamed of).

Come on folks, Surely we are entitled to a wee bit of glory? I would rather we win than put on a show. In an ideal world both would be nice of course but given the lack of trophies in a long time I'll take any win thanks.
Put it this way, I take no comfort the footy team played well in large spells during qual when I turn the tele on and see no Scotland yet again at the finals. I won't sit and think we were charismatic or unlucky or anything else, just please get us there by hook or by crook.

We ALWAYS show heart and fight, that is pretty much a stick on for most Scottish sport and I expect no less, all fans should.
We have in the last 2 weeks lost out on potential major honours in the last minute of a Poland game and now the same happens on rugby. the footy team showed fight and charisma and all the usual accolades, but I'll still take the win thank you over conceding last minute goals and putting on a show.
Btw, I should say they done well to get where thy did, kudos for that. It is just hard to be a Scotland sport fan at the minute.

One of the key strengths of all southern hem sides, is their ability not to bottle it when playing catch-up rugby with very little time left on the clock.
It's been an England Achilles heel for several years. If England are behind with 10 mins to go, they'll panic, force the game and invariably concede more points.
NZ, along with most other aspects of the game, are the masters of keeping cool and sneaking it in the final 10.
