Sad news
Thank you to all RIBnet members who knew my husband Brian Elliot for keeping him amused over many years.
Sadly he passed away yesterday so thank you to all

Christine, my deepest sympathies. Brian was an absolute gentleman and a solid RIBnetter, offering wise words (with a dash of humour) to many over the years. He met me in the IOM a couple of times, the second time waiting offshore to escort us into Peel before taking us on a whole Island tour. I still have his surplus boat binoculars - I always think of him when they are deployed. He will be missed.
Richard

Christine, Sorry to hear that. I never met Brian in person, but he was a proper old school member of RIBnet and you could always rely on him to bring common sense and civility to some of the otherwise bonkers discussions people have here and he was the go-to person for advice on IOM.

Just heard via Mike G on Facebook. Very sad news. My best ribbing experiences were with Brian on Cyanide - RB4, Scottish Islands cruising, Spirit of Cardiff send off, Scillies trips to name a few. RIP to one of the best.

Very sad to hear that!...another proper Gent with loads of knowledge/experience with loads of miles beneath his keel...who truly loved his Ribbing.
Only met him a few times in person ...but defiantly a Guy who lived his life to the ful!...and knew the score.

This is worst part of Ribnet.
I've been a member here for around 15 years and too many of the solid strong base of gentlemen here have passed recently.
Brian was such a lovely guy who was very helpful to me at the beginning of my Ribbing journey. I never met him, but always enjoyed his input.
I'm very sorry for your loss Mrs Elliott.

Hi Christine, I’m so sorry to hear this. Thank you for letting us know.
I have very fond memories of trips with Brian, notably on Keith Hart’s ludicrous Pentland Firth mission many years ago now.
Brian was a thoughtful and generous man who will be very much be missed here.

Oh no! Sad news indeed. Brian and I had conversations from way back when but we never actually met, nevertheless I'll miss him.
Best wishes to you Christine and thanks for letting us know.
