Yes there are a few things wrong with that picture, however, in my opinion posting this on social media is also wrong.

Agreed. I assume he was a passenger in a left hand drive car and wouldn't be so silly as to use his phone to take a photo whilst driving.
Everyone makes mistakes and yes its irritating sometimes but does this poor guy really need a public flogging for driving in the third lane?

Agreed lighten up. OK in outside lane, prop cover loose obscuring number plate, rig a bit nose up and it's an Audi. Just hope you've not embarrassed a member here.
In his defence looks like queuing in traffic, at least has a hi vis cover for prop, and it's a sib so a really lightweight payload.
Have to admit been guilty myself of cheekily nipping in outside lane on rare occasion if middle lane ejits are playing silly beggers, but then I also have an Audi. 😀

But the 3rd lane is officially the BMW lane
That's so they can stop us Audi drivers embarrassing them

Looks like slow moving traffic as the cars are nose to tail in the 3rd lane.
UK traffic law states that you are only allowed to use the first and second lanes whilst towing a trailer of any description but that this applies just on normal circumstances. However, there can be occassions whereby there is no alternative passage other than that of using the third lane especially in cases of the passing of slow moving vehicles with wide loads providing that the manouvre is done safely in order to keep the traffic flowing.

Obviously hasn't taken a decent corner yet. It looks remarkably close to the car.

My sons tricycle looks heavier duty than most of the trailers the Brits buy. Anyway, I say good on this gent for getting out there. Doesn't matter what your doing as long as it's more than sitting on the couch.

but I can see the ops point of view !
Fridays on the M5, people sit in the 3rd lane doing 70in a que, when the que disperses they go back to the middle lane doing 70 - why cant they just stay in the middle lane !!
Don't talk to me about the ***** that do 80 & hog the 3rd lane, thinking they don't need to have any respect for other users

Looking at the photo, top left you can see the matrix sign is lit, maybe there was a lane closure, maybe the guy was getting himself organised instead of waiting until the last minute & cutting in infront of the queue, maybe maybe maybe........, get off your armchair & go boating😏

So to clarify - photo was taken from the passenger seat so those accusations can be retracted.
As for putting it on social media what a load of rubbish, this person was wrong and breaking the law end of - if it raises awareness we may just have saved someone some points / fine
Good spot on the matrix got the photo in before this point but after 5 miles following from a way back watching him make no attempt to move out of that lane but only able to get photo at this point.
Comments regarding middle lane hoggers totally agree
Scenario time after time you pull up behind someone in the middle lane not allowed into 3rd lane towing and they won't pull over - I politely use the lights to make them aware and they still don't get it - thick!!

Well you must have a cracking view in that ivory tower. If someone annoys me when driving I let them know rather than hide behind a computer and complain after the event.

Yep me too. Its normally mr and mrs average that blocks lane with a complete disregard for any ribnobber who happens to be on the same road!
It would be awesome to have a mega blunderbuss and blast them off the planet. Bloody lane blockers. Dont give a toss about anyone else!

Have you ever driven at 71mph? Course not. Posting this is wrong!!
