I think one can rent those shipping containers at pretty resonable rates. I heard £20pm mentioned once.

i know where there are literally thousands of shipping containers that they are trying to get rid of apparently,,,,,in new york,
they have a particular problem with a large build up of the things and have far too many

perhaps ports in the uk may suffer the same issue so you could make some calls direct to them

Have you tried www.thecontainerman.com ?

The last time I bought a container it was a grade B (used, not reconditioned, some cosmetic damage but sound) and cost about £600. That was 3 or 4 years ago though, so prices might have changed.

phone the usa and ask how much for one and to ship it back.....might be cheaper than you think as they can fill it with goods for the trip over then leave it with you

worth a go

As long as it's water tight, I'm not bothered about the aesthetics. Cheers, I'll see if the Containerman can.

Dont bother shipping it back from the USA - your inland in the US, seafreight and delivery charges/customs/duty will cost more than a reasonable one here.

If you are after a 20' in ok but not shipping condition drop me a PM.

Price sounds high for a 40' - you can get a plated one for £900 to £1200 (a one way use will set you back about £1200). 40' Hi cube about £1000....

Thanks for your previous help on this thread guys. I'm sorted with the static now, but still looking for 2x20ft containers that are in reasonable nick. Container traders just appear to pluck figures out of the air.

Ebay for a static caravan. I was watching one a few weeks ago that went for less than £1 on the condition that it was removed within 3 days.
