Marcusredford,minimum charge seems to be £50 a month that covers you to around 20ft long.The place where I keep mine I imagine is stright because he charges VAT on top. Plenty of places in Kent for storage. Regards Jim

Looks like I may be moving to Phil & Jan's, going to go down to my current place tomorrow and have a chat and it doesn't work out I will take the boat there and then.

If I hadn't paid, I wouldn't have a problem paying it

The fact when I moved in he didn't want any paper trail seems to have turned round and bit me.

I wouldn't mind but he has caravans stored there as well, so can't see them having the same issues.

Oh and I not sure if I've dreamt this but I like the idea of the static caravans at P&Js.

Anyone got any photos of the setup they can send me? I'm really tempted just to take the RIB and not bother trying to work it out, but want to make sure it's a nice setup - don't want her thinking I'm neglecting her.

It's a good bit more full than when this was taken but basically it's a field. There's not much in the way of 'amenities', though they do have a hose for flushing. They're good people and certainly not the type to start hitting you up for money they aren't due. The boat storage is right in full view of the farmhouse and the two statics. They also have various dogs who make a fair old racket whenever anyone approaches, which I'm sure must help deter intruders. The only downside from a permanent storage point of view is that they don't have designated bays as such and it's all done on a sort of "find a space where you can" basis. It doesn't bother us because we generally store there short term and we've never not been able to get in, but if you were used to a caravan storage place it might be off putting.

Well Beretta is now homeless!


Phil has just phone me to see if I wanted the space, so looks like Beretta will be local to the coast - and hopefully will make her more usable at the moment.

nice one, could imagine nothing worse than leaving your pride and joy in a place where you cannot really trust the owner, great cruising area where you have chosen as well

I love cruising the area - must be one of the best available to us!

Just a little worried about outside storage and the best practice to keep her clean and in tip top condition.

and need to look into battery charging....

Nice one Steve Phil + Jan are a lovely couple also they have static vans on the farm and also the barn which they rent out and their prices are very reasonable .

Phil will also give you a lift into Caernarfon if you are going out for a few jars for the price of a pint or two cos it's a good excuse for him to get away from the farm.

We are truly spoilt with Chris the slip and Phil + Jan being there

I until this year left my Ribcraft outside at my caravan site in Argyll all winter and the only problem I had was a cracked bildge pump. I now have that covered as I fill the well and the pump with antifreeze. I also checked with Ribcraft before I did it and they had no issue just make sure you double harp it and leave your hatches open.

Start with a dry boat
Open all the hatches
Take the batteries out (top up, charge and store inside)
What Jambo said about wells/pumps
Use a QUALITY fitted cover - flappy fabric will abrade hypalon
Make sure the cover is ventilated at a high point
Leave the drain socks down and held open with something
Leave the engine trimmed down so all water drains out of the leg - do this BEFORE you take the battery out
Ensure that the deck is bow up - so it drains out the socks. I've seen sooooo many swimming pool boats

Battery's will need to stay on as it has a tracker - and hopefully I will be going down every few weeks, at least once a month!

It will be a quick email to the insurance tomorrow about the new storage arrangements (so I have a copy) but previously when I told them where it was stored they said they didn't need to know, but thanks.

First job tomorrow will be a trip to buy a big tarpaulin until I can sort a better cover out - it has the standard all over 'winter' cover that ballistic supply but not what I would call winter.
