Ive had the rib stored at a local farm since I've had it, so a few years without any issues. Over the past 6 months I get a call from him saying the rent is 2/3 months behind.

I show him my diary of when I paid him, and he still persists that I'm over due - so a few months I paid him 3 months rent to pull me back up to date, and tonight I've had another call saying I'm 3 months behind 😁

Think it's time to start looking around at other options.

Anyone know any good places in the north west?

Or just set up a standing order for the right amount - traceable then.

Aye that's my thoughts but he won't be paying Tax on it is my guess

Seems like people nowadays are happy to mug people off.

I've had 2 RIBNET members pull out of selling boats to us in the last month. Both times we paid full asking, both times we were prepared to buy blind (relying on an accurate description), as is guaranteed sale. The first time we paid a £500 deposit, only to be told 5 days later he'd changed his mind to sell (I suspect he sold it to somebody else). The second time we arranged for it to be picked up, only to be told today he's sold it, despite agreeing to sell to us!

I would get your self a note book and wright down each payment and ask him to sign it giving yourself a record to show to him when you paid!

Last time he said I owed him 3 months I started keeping logs of when I paid him, and for what period.

I don't know if he wants me out, but I don't like the idea of having the rib stored at a place they don't want it.

I am thinking of using this as a reason to move the boat to a coastal area to make the use a little easier.

We pay £300 for 6 months in Hertfordshire for a secure caravan storage site.

They accept no responsibility for anything though!

I tend to break issues like this down:

1. Do I want to keep my boat there (yes)
2. Set up a system (give him a calendar - cross off the months paid)
3. If he plays ball, you're sorted - if not, move.

He may be having "issues" and simply got mixed up. Or you have

Ask him if the RIB is in his way - he'll grab the chance if he wants you out.

BTW, I have a lovely space for two decent RIBs behind my gaff - no questions asked - no pack drill....

HMRC were handing out ID pass lanyards to children at a zoo(?). Wearing that round my neck with the end tucked into my shirt pocket has put the wind up more than a few 'cash in hand' merchants who have annoyed me.
