I could have a special (higher!) fee for student members and you could get your students unions to subsidise your RIBnet membership!
How about some students union RIB clubs, or even SU dive clubs, becoming "affiliated" to RIBnet (for a suitably extortionate fee of course)

Students Unite!
Seb,
I be one of those student layabouts.
I am Studying Mechanical Engineering at Southampton uni and am in my 4th and final year.
I'll be up for some cruises, but will probably only be back on the water next summer.
Cheers
Tim

A Uni RIB club had crossed my mind but I don't think there would be many members! I'm on the committee of our mountain bike club ( www.sumbc.co.uk), can we become "affiliated" to RIBnet !
We can do powerboat courses and engine courses very cheap though.

Another student over here, currently doing A-levels.....
I did leave a post to JK about a special student rate for silver membership but he never responded, so I had to pay full price

Good stuff, although it may take a bit of work to sort something out as were all light years apart!
Ill also have to get a boat that works first but i though it would be good to 'test the water' to see if there was any interest.
If any of you guys have got any ideas, throw em in.........students round Britains coastline AND pubs would be good!!
Oh and JK, we want student discount and privelages on everything if poss - membership, boaty bits, insurance - you name it! Maybe a recognised RIBnet student discount card for use in chandlery's. Now theres an idea
Cheers

Anyway, is the student bit the pull or the possibility of student females on ribs?

EASY???????????
I have had NOT A SINGLE PENNY from either my father or my mother (who I have not seen in years). My dad and stepmother got a brand new kitchen rather than help me pay for my education, and I have no other family to help. I have had to slog my guts out for the last year working with someone who tried to put me in hospital everytime I saw him, along with the rest of my team. I am still having to slog my guts out to try to afford the fees I have to pay, with no help from family. My boyfriend is wonderful getting out loans to try to help, but he works abroad so isn't around much.
The only time I get to play with RIBs is when I am volounteeting with the scouts, in the times when I should se studying at home or sleeping.
So don't bother trying to tell me that a student has an easy life.
Chérie

Hi Cherie......glad to see youve got your priorities right (RIBs!!!)
Looks like numbers are building which is pretty cool. Didnt realise there were so many students with RIBs! Its great!
Like i said before, if anyone gets any ideas about things to do with the boats or fancy making some more definate plans as to what we could do an when, go for it. Im pretty useless at organising things sorry!
Looks like im going to have to get a working boat sooner than i thought too!
