That was a bit of a damp Squibb here. Actually looks like the sun is going to shine here!

It didn't happen here either. Plenty of rain, no wind that was out of the ordinary,

It's been a bit breezy here, but nowhere near the apocalypse that was 1987! Found a good site for weather updates that I hadn't seen before

http://www.channelcoast.org/data_man...=&disp_option=

Peak gust was 50 knots by the look of things.

Only reached 44kts on the anemometer on my chimney last night. Breezy, but nothing special.

Interesting. We have a sustained 38 knots here in Esbjerg at the moment, gusting 45, but the Danish Weather Bureau has just issued a warning that we can expect winds up to 91 knots this afternoon for a short period between 15:00 and 18:00.

We have 6 project vessels in the port, which is obviously 'rammed' at the moment, and our largest at 14K tons has just ordered a tug for 12:00 to keep him pinned on the berth.

The Met Office is showing hurricane strength 'soon' for German Bight.

As MattH says nothing in Bristol at all.

Left at 0630 to drive to Henley. There are a few trees down in the Wallingford area - look like they've had it worse up here.

The Hype about this storm came about because it had the same track, atmospheric conditions, and potential to deepen off the scale. It was forming as it moved NE. The computer models did pick up that it was possibly not going as much as first thought.
I think being cautious is the key word.
All eyes to next weekend Sat into sun looking interesting especially Scotland.

Nothing amazing happen up the itchen last night. I put all the fenders I have around the rib to try and keep off anything floating by but nothing happened. Just down the river towards the dry stack by the board walk for those that know the area this happened - pontoon and all!!!!

it is breezing a bit in the German bight already:
Real time wind & weather report Helgoland-Oberland - Windfinder

a live webcam is behind the lower, large photograph at this site. click large picture that has text "Erleben sie hier", click again when you see "Press play to continue" and wait:
alle Webcams in klein

The German met service is promising gusts meeting 76 knots for the afternoon. this morning the promise was "just" 65 knots.
