Tall Ships (MIR in Stornoway)

Went on board the tall-ship MIR at Stornoway yesterday. Everthing is on an industrial scale, with ropes and pulleys everywhere. Interesting that the crew took the time to visit Tesco to top up their rations! After little reading on the net - it seems that investment in the ship has been lacking some-what, even as far back as 2000. My voyage on the Tall ship "Mir"

Great day though. Wish I'd taken the boat over to be part of the flotilla in the harbour. Their next stop is Lerwick for the second race to Stavanger.

Don't let them hear you calling their blocks "pulleys"

.... and let's not get started on all the different names for their ropes!

Blocks... pulleys... it's all the same to me, but not if you're a WAFI!
