Terminator Genesis..

What a complete load of absolute Tripe....

Why can't those Hollywood tossers just leave good films to rest in peace (1&2)

If you thought the last one bad, this latest load of swill really does take the biscuit, glad I did not pay to see it !

You knew it would be bad, but you still took your own time to go and see it. I don't blame the film industry, I blame the people who watch it and therefore encourage them!

I'm not a fan of making movies by eeking out the franchise like Terminator has done. Even Star Wars had it's critics when they made 1,2 and 3. So I'm hoping that episode 7 has all the right ingredients for a great film, but I won't be holding my breath.

I don't pay these days when I go to the Cinema, therefore I see films I would rarely pay to watch. Granted some are complete rubbish, but there are a surprising number that punch above ones weight.

Looking forward to seeing "Bond" tonight and "Ronaldo" tomorrow evening.

I thought the last two were OK'ish would not have wanted to pay for the cinema to watch them, so why not assume the same for this one ?

Its more the fact that they take a really good film and then make a mockery of it that I find so annoying.

Personally I blame you.

I am going to miss my xmas dose of The Hobbit or LOTR this year

They could make dozens of follow ups and I would go to see them all ... they inspire many of my own adventures. You cant tell me the pointy peak of Sgur na Ciche in the middle of the Knoydart wilderness is not The Lonely Mountain ..where Smaug the dragon hoards the gold.

Knoydart and Sgur Na Ciche seen from my SIB adventure rounding the Island of Eigg

Myself and another hobbit like creature then went by SIB and walked 15 miles to look for that gold this past summer. Unfortunately the entrance to the dragon’s Lair was too well hidden for us to find.

Clouds skim the top of Sgur Na Ciche.. The Lonely Mountain

For course.. I realise it is all just my imagination... there are no such things as men made from cliff faces ..trees that walk.. and terrible orcs or trolls ... is there ?

The Grey Man of the Merrick

Yup..the Terminator 3 is a load of old cod’s wallops ..give me a real adventure any day

Which reminds me ... Poly my presssioussss .. it all your doing... give me my ring back .. hey.. and are we having another adventure next year ?

Somewhat like the Star Wars thing then!..Seems an American "speciallity "thanks for the Heads up!
The James Bond saga still delivers!D.C does a great Job in the latest offering!...
.."Our man Flint" the Hollywood/US version was a complete Joke!...and was meant to blow our Mr Bond the water!!
...Bit like the Monkeys and the Beatles!

Ummm, not to burst your bubble, but are you aware of the term "parody"? That's what the Flint movies were meant to be.

On an unrelated note, so were the original Batman TV series, and the Star Trek shows, so no telling what gets taken seriously.

I'm not sure they were that good to start with! They were just a bit different and perhaps "we" happened to be the right age at the time or something - but I watched the first one recently (because it was on, and I was in the US wide awake at 4am!) and it really wasn't that good - compared to say the Matrix, or even the early Bournes! However I have a rule of thumb that after 3 series of any TV show or 3 films in a franchise they WILL screw it up (sometimes they manage sooner) because there is only so much you can write without becoming formulaic rubbish.

Fair enough, I should have pre-emptively warned you!

Now remember the discussion about being trapped on a remote island with crazy people from the internet... ...you are not helping your case with all this fantasy fiction nonsense! However, as it happens I have been thinking over a few ideas for 2016 [I was supposed to have a 2015 "finale" but a forecast F8 gusting 9 put paid to that!]...

Trapped ...perhaps Willk.. but at least you put on half a brave face and kept your sanity.. if I recall correctly .. there were a few stone faced trolls in that movie.

Roll on 2016 and the next adventure ... I hope you will come again then too to keep Poly under control. I got the impression he is not really the Rambo type...but I can understand his liking of The Matrix.

I find that many of the new versions of films like The Mechanic (Charles Bronson) 1972 , The day the Earth Stood Still (1951) and others are a complete disappointment.
I did enjoy the latest Bond film and like Daniel Craig in the role although I thought Skyfall had the edge.
