Here in the U.K and for many other E.C markets including the U.S. people don't fear for tomorrow and therefore don't feel it necessary to vote for change.

As I said, just my opinion.
Which is why I am in favour of "proportional MPs pay" ie 30% turnout 30% salary perhaps no one will vote now

That's actually a pretty good idea; MPs would have to work a lot harder in their consistencies to attract voters. Then, they would have to stick to their promises in order to retain votes in future elections!

I admit to never having voted in my life, but then the British National Party doesn't field a candidate in the Chelmsford ward.

Like it I also think that MPs should only be allowed to bring in new law by dissolving a number of old ones, say at a ratio for 10 to 1 that way we would have less legislation bogging everything down and the government would think very seriously before passing an petty insignificant acts Des

Couldn't agree more - what is it with governments that they think that passing tougher new laws all the time will help?

For example they are bringing in new laws - bigger fines and MORE cctv cameras
to stop fly tipping - wouldn't it be better to make it easier to dump your rubbish and cheaper to have a skip emptied? No wonder people fly tip when it costs £150 to have a skip taken away!!!

Actually if you read the Tintin book "Tintin and The Broken Ear" there is a lost tribe who speak "pigin" english just like Garfish - uncanny just how similar they are!!!

Amazing - brings a whole new meaning to the word "democracy" - if it catches on and they can't stop it people will be able to control millions of votes!!!

Sounds a bit like the trades unions to me............
