Tide state addon for Firefox

Found this on another forum - in Firefox, you can install this addon:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7873

And it will give you the current tide height at the port of your choice, as well as info on whether the tide is on its way in or out.

Cheers

Chris

Not sure how accurate it is though - if you open two windows they both show different tide heights!

It only updates at 5 minute intervals - refreshing the web page does not seem to force an update of the tide height.

If you wait 5 minutes, the windows display the same tide height (on my pc anyway).

Cheers

Mine shows the same in both windows. Don't really need to know what it is doing to the nearest centimetre anyway - but its nice to know before leaving the house roughly what its doing as when it gets to about 0.3 or below my boat trailer falls off a cliff at the end of the beach before the boat floats off and that has to be done very carefully!

I am glad it does tides in South Atlantic. I spent time living on Tristan da Cunha and St Helena - it would have been useful there. I am now in Muscat and the info is useful for dive and trip planning
Cheers
