Is yours the fuel injected one?

When I spot the right one (at the right price) I want to buy a V8 Vantage - still pretty quick - 0-60 in 5.2 and wioll top 170mph!!!

A few years ago I toured the old factory - what a place!!! All hand made everything -= the quality of the wood and leather was amazing. Every engine hand made and with the brass plaque on it.

V8 with 432bhp - still not to be sniffed at!!!

It's very kind of you to be so appreciative Codprawn.

Actually, my car is a bit of a rareity. It's called an AM Vantage and was built in 1972, as one of only 70 built.

It's actually got the straight six Vantage engine with triple webbers which was in the last of the DBS , but these were the put in the final DBS's but with the V8 style front. It's also got wire wheels.

This car was at the 72 London Motorshow

You would be suprised how inexpensive they are to buy, as so many people want the DB5's and sixes.

The trouble is they cost a lot to maintain.

I know the engine - very nealy bought a mint DB5 a few years ago - was £10,000 - then the classic car boom hit and it shot up to £120,000!!! Back down to sensible levels though!!!

As to not much money the late Vatages with 432bhp still go for anything up to £60,000 - don't think I could get one on lease!!!

Having said that did spot one on Ebay the other day for about £20,000 - was tempted but wasn't quite what I was looking for!!!

Always nice to have a car with an interesting bit of history behind it.

I bought a new little toy today

It's a Garmin StreetPilot i3. It's only little, and quite basic, but it works brilliantly. You can upload a speed camera database, which means it works like a Road Angel too.

I'd ben after an in-car navigator for a while but couldn't justify £300+ but now that these are around at £180 I couldn't resist it
