I think the people with the guns pay a lot of money to go and shoot these animals - which all helps the local economy - plus as one of the pictures was captioned some of the animals are essentially culled.
So it is not all bad.
I wouldn't mind going to Africa to do some shooting using my Canon (note this is not a cannon, added this as some of the typing on this forum could lead to confusion at times).
