Trying to find photographer Guy Timewell
Anyone in the Brighton area know of a Guy Timewell ? We trades as a wedding photographer but is taking full payment for weddings and then doing a runner. Been asked by a friend to try and track this tucker down. And I know there's a few heads on here from around that area. If you can help please get in touch.
Cheers.

Guy Timewell's all over the web, but I'd guess he has a good cut-out to shield him. The online bridezillas are hot for his blood. I'd say the best way to get a F2F is have a nice wee girl call him regarding her upcoming nuptials. Then bring the gang in.
He still won't have the money though :-(

Email him for a photographer for your wedding, he will answer that as there is money for him behind it, then send him a cheque as payment.........

Apart from the enjoyment of nailing down an unpleasant piece of work, surely a straightforward job for Mr Plod? (although I don't have much regard for their abilities in dealing with fraud)

Not as straight forward as booking motorists for speeding though.

This joker did our Wedding in September of last year. I am still chasing him for negatives and money back and am VERY keen to get in touch with him. If anyone can shed any light on this, I'd be very appreciative. All his numbers are dead and the web now offline. I've facebooked him twice, and he is also on linked in. He called me last in early October and things seemed to be fine (although he was telling me a disk I'd sent him didn't work (which was a lie) and the start of his 'runner' from us.
Just as a back story - we found him at a swanky wedding fair at Olympia and thought he would be great. He cost a lot of money and did at best an average job (although his folio looked great - I suspect they weren't his pics). He got hammered at the reception (we married in Portugal and tried to be really accommodating to him, as being a 'guest photographer'). We didn't mind, until we saw his work did not live up to the billing. Even so we do want our negatives to have the memories and to catch up with him to sort things out.
Any help greatly appreciated.
PS Guy Timewell, if you're reading this, just do the right thing!

Guy Timewell: Please respond
Hi Guys,
I am in the very same situation as you, and have been in touch with various organisations to "out" Mr Timewell, including BBC's Watchdog, the local papers, the host of his website (who has now very kindly deactivated it once he knew) and Brighton Police.
Please can you email me on sarah.fielder@morganstanley.com and give me details of your wedding date and exactly what happened and I will fill you in on where I am at also.
Best Regards
Sarah

hell has no fury like a woman scorned! Respect to your tenacity.
Best of luck tracking him down....but 2 years! It may be time to move on and focus on your marriage.

Marriage is well and truley in focus. ;o)
He is still advertising his services and ripping people off which isn't on - it's quite a scam he has going.
At an average £2k a wedding, Guy Timewell is making a lot of money out of unsuspecting souls!

he's normally to be found in this pub, seen him in there quite a few times every time I'm in Brighton (i think every time i've been there). I know it's him as there are some photos on the walls with his name under them and I was discussing them with him and he mentioned he does wedding photos. Seems he likes a bit of a tipple by the sounds of things

We used Guy Timewell for our wedding
Just wondering how you got on with finding Guy and getting your photos.
We used him for our wedding in 2006. We had two ceremonies, one in Australia (which he came over for, took the photos and sent us the pictures ok) and one in the Uk (which he turned up to, got drunk, chatted up our friends and generally acted like he was a guest at the wedding) and we did have lots of trouble getting our photos from him. We did manage to get them from him in the end after lots of calls and threatening him with legal action. Worst of all, our wedding was featured in a wedding magazine so I'm sure he got lots of business from us. Wonder how many people he's ripped off?!

I received the following by email today:
Dear Chat Room Editor,
The Comments written in your chatroom concerning Guy Timewell are in the form of a personal attack .They are abusive in nature and use language that is defamatory and deeply critical .
It is clear also that these have nothing whatsoever to do with the stated common interest of this forum -which concerns RIB`s.
The comments amount to the spreading negative publicity about Mr. Timewell which has occured from the same source on a number of websites.
Subsequent comments printed here are based on the mis-assumption that these opinions are unarguably true and proliferate such negative opinions in turn.
The original author of these remarks has indeed been contacted and the matter is being dealt with .This is ,indeed ,in any case a private matter and has not yet fortunately gone as far legal action although there is of course that possibilty . I insist that these remarks are removed as they constitute abuse and are entirely unilateral in nature and there is no reason to be on your forum .
Yours sincerely, Edwin Timewell on behalf of Guy Timewell Photography
I've reviewed the thread, and agree that referring to Guy Timewell as a "scum bag" in the original thread title is a little unneccessary. As a courtesy I have changed the title to reflect this.
As for the rest, whilst it may be inconvenient for Guy Timewell, I don't believe that any of the posts are unacceptable. If either of the Timewells wish to state their case further they are welcome to register and have their say.
