Seen a big cat wandering around in the road at 2am near Newent once (a trainee was with me at the time and confirmed I wasnt seeing things!) It looked like a small lion. A few days later there were lots of sheep killings reported.
No UFOs though...

Think the best unexplained sighting of something not right that I had was towing my old boat back down the A19 near Thirsk North yorks a few months before the first Gulf war ,
Couple of Raf jet fighters were at very low level went over the road and bank turned very fast , something was following a few hundred metres behind one of them , as the jet turned suddenly this cylindrical object about the size of a single deck bus dident follow but went straight on and then accelerated to a very very very high speed ,
The only colour and appearances was bus size that had 6 rings down the side was like silvery moving galvanised molten zinc the image you get if welding galvanised metal .
We thought of possible things it could have been a vapour trail from the jet or some sort of cruise missile they were training with .

Best unexplained sighting i had was when i was following a live NASA Shuttle take-off on the internet from Cape Canaveral, went outside 16 minutes later with 15x70 binoculars as it was due over here about then, crystal clear night, sure enough there it was nearly overhead BUT directly behind was a V shaped line of 9 small white lights moving at the exact same speed right across the sky until they where out of sight.Never did find out what they where doing there!
As for Willk's "silvery practice golf ball" check this?

No,defiantly not internal reflections.Have seen the ISS and Shuttle numinous times with them (Celestron 15x70)always perfect. Whatever they where,i had a good minute and a half to track them across the sky.By the time the Shuttle showed up on this side of the Atlantic she was closing in on 5 miles per second

I saw a Shuttle travel over Ireland at night just after launch. As it passed there were other lights moving in a similar direction. These were the booster rockets falling away and below. There were other bits of debris burning up around her too - quite a sight!

A shuttle launch was one of the things I'd really wished to see in my lifetime before the whole thing ended that and fly on concorde
I'd better get some of this shit done before anything else gets lost for good

Not personally but my mother did many years ago, large craft hovering with rotating lights, her friend who lived about 8 miles away saw a large 100M+ diametre silver sphere hovering, and my mate on a quiet road in wiltshire saw the typical shaped flying suacer fly over the road in front of him. I have no reason to disbelieve any of them.

Perhaps there should be a "What's on your Bucket List" thread to go with the "Christmas List" one.

In the 70's I remember Me and Dad going in to the garden and seeing an Apollo rocket ascending. Just a spec, but amazing to see something so far away and something I will always remember.
