Uses for an old inner tube

Yet again our toilet packed up - not too many curries but the modern syphons are useless - the old one lasted 20 years and the new one lasted a year before the diaphragm went. Replaced the diaphragm adn it lasted 6 months - so annoying. They are made from thin poly sheet like a plastic bag - useless - to thin and too brittle. I started thinking where can I get a thin sheet of rubber from? Gloves are too thin - then it dawned on me - a quick trip down to a local tyre place and I picked up an old inner tube for nothing - it's perfect!!!

Not only good for fixing bogs but all sorts of things. Great for making gaskets and seals etc. You could also repair a leaking fuel pipe by winding some rubber around first and then a load of insulation tape.

So many uses - even the local fetish club should have some!!!

I've cut them into rings in the past to use as big strong elastic bands.

They work well when filled full of sand and cable tied at either end as moveable ballast.

RIBase
Racing bicycle innertubes cut into lengths and filled with sand make good fishing weights for rough ground.

A length filled with old hemp rope and tarmac makes a passable resemblance to a Woodbine cigarette, so some of my smoking friends tell me.

Blimey that's like a two sentence description of my first two marriages
